Virtu Finance approves first-half statements

Virtu Finance plc announced on 17 August 2026 that its board had approved the Company’s unaudited interim financial statements for the six months ended 30 June 2026. The announcement, numbered VFP57, was issued in line with Capital Markets Rule 5.16.20, with the interim statements attached to the filing and also made available through the Company’s investor materials.

Profit declines as finance costs remain high

Virtu Finance reported investment and other related income of €570,600 for the first half of 2026, slightly higher than the €566,600 recorded during the same period in 2025.

Interest payable remained broadly unchanged at €502,812, compared with €501,490 a year earlier, resulting in gross profit of €67,788.

Profit before tax fell to €1,304 from €2,985, while profit for the period declined to €848, compared with €1,940 in the first half of 2025. Earnings per share stood at 0.0017, down from 0.0039.

Board considers refinancing ahead of 2027 bond maturity

In its interim directors’ report, Virtu Finance said its main activity remains raising capital-market funding to support the operations and capital projects of the Virtu Group.

The company has €25 million in 3.75% bonds maturing on 30 November 2027. The board said it is considering repayment and refinancing options and remains satisfied that the bonds will be redeemed when they fall due.

No interim dividend was recommended.

As at 30 June 2026, Virtu Finance had approximately €24.90 million in interest-bearing borrowings, while total assets stood at around €26.05 million.
