MFSA warns Lampuki.com and Karozza.com are not authorised insurance providers

Regulator issues warning over two online entities

The Malta Financial Services Authority has issued a warning about Lampuki.com and Karozza.com, two online entities that claim to offer insurance services in collaboration with licensed firms.

In its warning dated 24 August 2026, the MFSA said neither entity is registered as a Maltese company and neither is licensed or authorised by the Authority to provide insurance or other regulated financial services in Malta.

Public warned of potential financial losses

Based on the information available to it, the MFSA said the two entities appear to be schemes of a dubious nature and may expose consumers to a high risk of financial loss.

The public has therefore been advised not to enter into any transactions with Lampuki.com or Karozza.com in relation to activities falling under the Insurance Business Act, Chapter 403 of the Laws of Malta.

Consumers encouraged to check authorisation

The MFSA reminded consumers to confirm that any company offering regulated financial services is authorised by the Authority or another reputable financial regulator before doing business with it.

Extra caution is recommended when financial offers are received through less conventional channels, including telephone calls and social media. Consumers can verify authorised firms through the MFSA’s Financial Services Register.

Anyone who suspects they may be dealing with an unauthorised provider or financial scam should stop any transactions and contact the MFSA.
