Malta Airport lifts 2026 passenger forecast after strong first half

Malta International Airport has raised its 2026 passenger forecast after reporting a strong financial and operational performance during the first half of the year. The revised Malta Airport passenger forecast for 2026 now stands at a record 11.2 million travellers.

Passenger traffic continues to grow

The airport operator reported first-half revenue of €82.5 million and a net profit of €29 million. These results reflect the continued expansion of passenger activity and strong demand for travel to and from Malta.

The higher forecast suggests that the airport expects this positive momentum to continue during the remaining months of 2026. Summer is normally the busiest period for Malta’s aviation and tourism sectors.
