Summary

Top Gainers or Advancers ranks eligible securities that recorded the strongest positive price performance in the selected market view and comparison period.

The list helps investors identify where the largest measured upward movements are occurring.

Why it matters

Top Gainers can highlight securities attracting positive market attention and can help investors review leadership within a market, sector, or security type.

It is also useful for comparing an individual security with other securities over the same period.

How the ranking works

Securities are generally ranked using the positive percentage change between the latest eligible price and the relevant reference price. The exact result depends on the period, filters, and security universe shown in the view.

A security must normally have the prices needed for the comparison to be included in the ranking.

How to Calculate it

% Change=  Latest Price- Reference Price x 100

How to read it

A higher position means the security recorded a larger positive change according to the displayed ranking measure. Review both the percentage change and the net price change to understand the relative and absolute size of the move.

Trading activity can provide additional context. A large gain accompanied by substantial traded value may have different significance from a similar move in a security with very limited trading.

Things to keep in mind

A place in Top Gainers does not indicate that the security is undervalued or that the rise will continue. Large percentage gains can occur in low-priced or less liquid securities and may be affected by a small number of trades.

Corporate actions, price adjustments, market announcements, and the selected reference period can also affect the ranking.
